Passengers’ urination causes in-flight chaos – and flight crew forced to divert plane

This brought new meaning to the term “live stream”.

Flyers seem to be treating planes more and more like toilets with wings. This time, a Ryanair flight was forced to accelerate its landing after several passengers engaged in disruptive behavior – including a hellion urinating in the cabin.

“This is now a matter for the local police,” Ryanair representatives told The Independent as they recounted the disturbance, which happened on Monday, November. 4, on flight FR3152 from Derby in the UK to Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands.

The 4 ½ hour flight went sideways after some passengers started causing an unspecified ruckus and sources told Travel and Tour World that their rage culminated in gross ep-pee-soda.

Fearing for the safety and comfort of those on board, crew members notified air traffic control that they would have to expedite their arrival and would seek assistance from authorities upon arrival.

In response, ground authorities “prioritized their approach by shortening the route where possible” and managed “surrounding traffic to ensure coordination with police,” via an X post from air traffic control, Travel and Tour World reported.

After arriving at Tenerife airport, the plane was met by local police and “passengers left”, Ryanair representatives reported.

They can be subject to serious legal consequences as those involved in in-flight disorderly conduct are often subject to fines, travel bans and even jail time.

Over the summer, a passenger was fined nearly $400 for urinating in a cup during a flight delay after landing at Australia’s Kingsford Smith International Airport.

Despite the harsh penalties, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported an increase in incidents of unruly passengers, including abuse, threats and even endangering the safety of the flight itself.

Earlier this week, an unruly passenger tried to open the emergency door on a flight from Brazil to Panama but was thwarted after passengers beat him to a pulp and detained him for authorities.
